November Playgroup
For November 3rd, 10th, and 17th, we will meet at Colonial Park, located east of the 610 and north of Bellaire blvd. off of Academy Street. Just type in the name "colonial park Houston, TX" in http://maps.google.com/ and it'll show you where it is. It's a really nice, gated park...it''s supposed to be a little chilly, but it'll be nice if we have sweaters on! Hope to see you there! Call for any questions! Amanda Arnett (832) 588-0202.

October Playgroup
October 6th: 11am, Bellaire City Library, Puppet Theater Stories - The library is located at 5111 Jessamine Street Bellaire TX. If you live near the Medical Center(like me), hop on the 610 w, and it'll curve north-ish. Get off at "Bellaire" and make a u turn onto the frontage road. Turn right onto a residential street, Jessamine, and follow it until you'll see the library on your left after the fire department building.
October 13th: 10am, Braeswood Park, 2345 Maroneal - near Main Street and Greenbrier.
October 20th: we'll do the same park, Braeswood.
October 27th: 10am, Halloween Party at the church, cultural center! Dress up in your costume and come with an easy - no props game to do! We'll provide frosted cookies and a couple more games. Oh, if you have a husband who has time off that day, can you please let me know? We've been scolded because we haven't had a man/priesthood holder with us during our church playgroups. Thanks!!!!

September Playgroup
Hi Everyone!
So I guess it's still going to be piping hot through the end of the month, so I have inside/water activities for us! We will still meet at 10am each week, except for the natural science museum week.
9/1 (Thurs) Splash Pad/Playground on Dunlavy Street and just north of the 59 Freeway. I don't know if there's a Dunlavy Street exit off of the freeway. If you look on google map, it's called "Ervan Chew Park". It's a great splash pad/playground....I went with my girls a few weeks ago.
9/8 (Thurs) It's cool this week! Let's go to the park just north of Main Street and Greenbrier. (Braeswood Park) If you're going up Greenbrier, you pass Main Street, then turn left onto a small street called Maroneal. You'll pretty much run into it.
9/13 (Tues) Natural Science Museum. They have free Tuesdays from 2pm-8pm. I was thinking(since a lot of us have kids who take naps) we could meet around 3:30pm. It is located near Hermann Park. The address is 5555 Hermann Park Dr. Houston, 77030

August Playgroup
Hey Ladies! We'll meet at 10am again every Thursday this month...
August 11th: I just discovered this park/splash pad! It's a newer splash pad, so hopefully it'll be nice and clean! It's just north of the 59 and west of Dunlay street. Ervan Chew Park's address is: 1655 Banks Houston, TX 77006. I'm going to Costco later this week, so I'll check it out and post later on about where to park.
August 18th: Since it's so blasted hot, I figured that we could do another get together at the cultural hall at the church. It was fun! Bring push toys/little bikes/balls/etc.
August 25th: Rachel Meldrum is offering her awesome pool for us! Her apartment is called, "The Villas at Hermann park" - it was called the Promenade at Hermann Park before. The address is 6301 Almeda Road. Park either right in front of the clubhouse and go through the clubhouse to the pool which is right behind the clubhouse or go through the gates with the code 8400 and park in the covered parking garage (your car will not get as hot!) Call Rachel Meldrum if you have any questions! 801-427-2946.

July Playgroup Revision
Hey Ladies! This week and next week will be what is written on the post below. The third Thursday, the 21st, I found a fun thing to do at Miller Outdoor Theater instead of going to Whit Johnson again. The theater is doing Princess and the Pea at 11am on the 21st! We'll also do the cultural hall activity on the 28th as written below on the last post. Hope this all makes sense!

Hey Ladies! I haven't been totally "with it" with playgroup, but I talked with Emily and got some good ideas for July! We'll switch things up...
We'll meet at 10am each week, like we have been.
The first and third Thursday in July, we'll go to the covered park called Whit Johnson Park. This is the address. 6540 Wakeforest St., West University Place, TX 77005. It's located at the NW corner of Kirby and Holcombe within the residential area.
July 14th, we'll meet at the pool in my complex called Riverwalk. The address is 2300 Old Spanish Trail Houston, TX 77054. Once you come in through the gates, find a parking spot anywhere once you enter and the pool is to the left after the security guard office. All parking spots are up for grabs. You'll have to tell the guard that you're here for a swim party with the Arnett's. :) There's a fun waterfall area!
July 28th, we'll meet at the cultural hall at our church building for some fun! Bring balls and bikes/anything with wheels for some fun. Bring a snack, too! It'll be a good cool place to have fun.
Any questions or ideas, just post a comment for me and I'll answer it!

June Playgroup
Hi Ladies! I'm leaving in a couple of days to go out of town for a month, so I'm already looking at the playgroup for June. We will continue to meet at the park for May, but starting June 2nd, we'll start going to the water park at Discovery Green. The address is 1500 McKinney, Houston, Texas 77002 - but I'm still kind of new here and don't know where the actual water park is. Will someone that views this post soon please help me find out where the actual water park is within the Discovery Green Park? Thanks so much, and I hope that all of you are doing well!

For the month of May, let's do the Whit Johnson Park, 6540 Wakeforest St., West University Place, TX 77005. It's located at the NW corner of Kirby and Holcombe within the residential area. If it gets too hot during the middle of May, we'll think of a good water park. FYI: I'm changing the time to 10am for the remainder of the summer, since it's getting warm! Hey moms, let's do an easter egg hunt next Thursday, April 21st at the same Fire Engine playground! Please come with 5-filled easter eggs and a basket per child who will participate from your family. Thursday, February 17, 10:30 am: Back to regularly scheduled play group at the Bellaire City Park. The weather is supposed to be in the upper 60s. The Bellaire City Park is located at the intersection of 5th Street and Laurel Street, Bellaire, TX 77401. (northwest of the pool)

January calendar
For the month of January, let's meet at Russ Pittman Park, located at 7112 Newcastle, Bellaire. (There are two parks in the area...Russ Pittman is across the street from the Bellaire Pool). We'll start at 10:30, and whoever wants to can walk over to the Nature Discovery Center when it opens at noon. If the weather is rainy, we will cancel for the week.
